Job summary

Westfall Technik Inc. in Wakefield Township, MI, is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri 3pm-11pm). A high school diploma or equivalent is required; prior manufacturing experience is welcome but not required.

You will be part of a team focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The role involves operating molding presses, inspecting parts with a micrometer, checking for defects, following work instructions, and completing shift paperwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior manufacturing experience is desired, but not required.
• Positive outlook while working through obstacles.
• Self-starter, high level of initiative.
• Detail orientated.
• Good communication skills - written, verbal, active listening.

Responsibilities

• Operate molding presses.
• Check parts using a micrometer.
• Check parts for quality defects such as cracks and chip outs.
• Trim and inspect parts as needed by customer specification, if applicable.
• Follow work instructions on the process and desired quality needed with each production run.
• Count, organize and package parts per requirements.
• Properly complete all shift paperwork per work instructions.
• Communicates all part defects or problems regarding production issues to Lead, Technician, and/or Supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Work as a team.
• Other duties as assigned.
