Westfall Technik Inc. in Wakefield, MI is seeking a CNC Turning Operator for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:00pm–11:00pm). The role focuses on operating the CNC lathe, inspecting finished blocks, and ensuring continuous workflow.

You will maintain equipment, keep accurate paperwork, and support quality improvements within a growing plastics manufacturing environment. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preference for technical training or machining experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency required.
• Technical degree preferred but not required.
• General machining experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude required.
• Organizational abilities for work, self, and department.
• Proven ability to work in a team environment.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to operate all equipment in the department.

Responsibilities

• Run/Operate the CNC lathe.
• Coordinate/review all inspection of finished blocks internally (In-Machine) and with quality department as needed.
• Problem solving for all turning related tasks as needed.
• All turning paperwork organized at program completion.
• Maintain and advise lead of all needed repairs on the machinery.
• Ensure all scheduled operations/tasks are complete.
• Work to the department workload schedule.
• Update the schedule as tasks are completed or their status changed.
• Mark as ready for the next operation in the next department if applicable.
• Make suggestions for equipment, software, training, and resources that would make the department more efficient.
• Responsible for Department Housekeeping, Cleanliness, and Organization as required.
