SUMMARY

The manufacturing team member will safely set up, operate, and adjust metal forming equipment using appropriate tools and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MACHINE OPERATION

• Set up, operate, and adjust metal forming equipment using appropriate tools and procedures.
• Maintain mill operation according to procedures and keep equipment in good condition.
• Operate cutback saw safely and according to order specifications.
• Keep mill and surrounding area clean and free of obstructions.
• Perform changeovers using appropriate tooling.
• Change punches and shear dies as needed.
• Meet machine goals.
• Assist in training co-workers and demonstrate teamwork skills.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

SAFETY

• Follow all safety rules and operational procedures.
• Perform Lockout Procedures as required by mill-specific Lockout JSA.
• Wear and maintain all required PPE.
• Understand safety devices and their operation.
• Notify management of any safety device malfunctions or missing devices before machine operation.

QUALITY

• Perform quality checks, including measuring length, width, hole spacing, and thickness using appropriate tools like tape measures and micrometers.
• Check for straightness, bow, and camber, and perform routine dimension checks.
• Maintain all quality documentation legibly.

MAINTENANCE

• Perform routine maintenance and report machine issues to maintenance personnel.
• Assist maintenance staff as directed.

HOUSEKEEPING

• Maintain a clean and organized work station.

OTHER

• Assist material handlers with coil changes and reject policies.
• Direct, assist, and train helpers in necessary functions.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately.
