Job Summary

This role will operate plant machinery as directed while adhering to all rules and regulations mandated by safety policies and procedures to produce a superior product.

Job Responsibilities

1. Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
2. Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates
3. Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction
4. Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance, ensuring it meets quality requirements
5. Perform routine machine maintenance
6. Assist other operators in setting up machines and completing tasks to meet deadlines
7. Maintain housekeeping in the assigned area in a clear and orderly fashion

Job Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent; or at least 1 month of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
2. At least 1 year of experience operating machines, preferably Besser equipment
3. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
4. Ability to perform basic math operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
