Debbie’s Staffing is recruiting for a Machine Operator on 2nd shift for our client in Attleboro, MA. Schedule: 2nd shift 3:30pm-2:00am, Monday-Thursday, Friday overtime, weekend work may be required. Pay: $18.00/hr. Operate machinery for high-precision parts and inspect for quality.

Requires ability to stand, lift up to 40 lbs, and follow work instructions. On-site position with potential for overtime as business needs dictate.

Debbie’s Staffing is now recruiting for Machine Operator 2nd shift for our client located in Attleboro, MA Schedule: 2nd shift 3:30pm- 2:00am M-Th, F-OT, may be required to work weekend Pay: $18.00/hr

SUMMARY

Operate machinery associated with the production of high-precision parts, to produce a quality product for our customer. Types of machines operated are single feature machines and/ or complex inspection and testing. May run more than one machine simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations including wearing and maintaining personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and safe condition.
  • Operates equipment in a safe manner.
  • Participate as a member of work teams.
  • Assist in measuring team performance for safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Work with team members, other business functions, customers and suppliers to continually improve these measures.
  • Participates in Level 3 activities such as scrap and rework elimination projects along with various other kaizen events.
  • Work from work instructions, prints, in process inspection plans, engineering layouts, customer specification, written and verbal instructions.
  • Machine parts.
  • Load and unload parts.
  • Operate and adjust machine and equipment to maintain required sizes and finishes.
  • Observe operation and monitor controls.
  • Make piece inspection and any required adjustments.
  • Use a variety of gages and other measuring instruments to maintain tolerance, parallelism, concentricity and finish.
  • Meets quality standards while maintaining expected production rate.
  • Replace worn/ dull tooling.
  • Wash and pack parts as required.
  • Accurately complete required quality and production reports and records using paper and paperless electronic computer applications.
  • Daily maintenance and cleaning of machines including lubrication.
  • Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations and/or unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Attends required training programs.li>
  • Assist in the training of other associates in procedures and use of equipment.
  • Arrange schedule to meet customer needs.
  • May be required to use lift equipment as necessary to move and position stock and parts.
  • Use care to safely lift and balance loads properly.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees must be able to stand for extended periods, walk frequently, use their hands for handling and manipulating objects, and occasionally bend, crouch, push, pull, and lift materials. Requires the ability to work 10-hour shifts and occasional 6-day workweeks to meet business needs. Visual ability to perform detailed work and operate safely in the work environment is required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

At least 9 months of work experience and/or volunteer experience. Manufacturing experience preferred. Ability to remain productive under indirect supervision and follow verbal and written instructions and techniques. Basic mathematical aptitude required. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and up to 40 lbs occasionally.

CERTIFICATION/TRAINING REQUIRED
  • Up to 6 weeks of on the job training to become familiar and confident with essential duties
  • General Orientation
  • Annual Safety training programs (Hearing Conservation, etc.)
  • Quality System Awareness Training
  • Level 3 Training
  • Certified tow motor operator and/or overhead crane operator (if job requires use).
