Job summary

Pilgrim in Ottumwa, IA seeks a 2nd shift Loin Bone Production Supervisor to lead a production team in beef and pork operations. The role works in production and maintenance settings with exposure to chemicals, machinery, knives, and demanding hours.

You will supervise 25-50 hourly workers, coordinate with plant management, uphold safety and attendance standards, and apply strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.

2ND SHIFT LOIN BONE PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Working Conditions:

Production and maintenance settings

Exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knives

Slippery floors, cold temperatures, and loud ambient noise

Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of production jobs.
• Supervisory skills; good interpersonal relations; ability to handle conflict.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to speak multiple languages beneficial
• Good attendance and safety records (Less than 3 Points, for internal candidates)

Education:

High School degree or equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field preferred

Experience: 1-2 years proven supervisory experience in the Beef or Pork industry preferred

Special Skills :

Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally in English

Bilingual skills helpful

Excellent conflict resolution skills

Computer knowledge required

Good organizational skills

R elationships :

Internal: Employees on the production line and plant management

External: USDA and Union

Supervision of Personnel:

Hourly direct reports (25-50), production employees
