Job summary

JBS USA is seeking a Harvest Supervisor to oversee slaughter-area operations, ensure safety and quality, and coordinate production staffing on a planned weekly schedule. The role requires strong production experience and leadership to train staff and enforce procedures.

The candidate will monitor adherence to safety and quality standards, coordinate attendance, and work with management to maintain a cohesive, compliant production line in a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

• Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
• Minimum 2-5 years production experience preferred.
• Knowledge of meat processing and subsequent job specifications.
• Management/communication skills advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitors slaughter area by evaluating product and administering corrective procedures as needed (provides indirect job specification training).
• Coordinates attendance issues by scheduling personnel to fill vacant or absent positions and minimizing turnover rates.
• Conducts pre-operational inspection of area, sets up production equipment, and submits maintenance work orders as needed.
• Maintains food and work safety regulations, along with human resources and safety policies.
• Greets and speaks with personnel to provide a cohesive working environment.
• Audits product and employee safety throughout shift.
• Controls waste by minimizing products sent to inedible and providing a sanitary working environment.
• Processes post-operational attendance information from Kronos system.
• Conducts line meetings monthly or as circumstances dictate to address department issues or concerns.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Working on Harvest or Hides production floor for 50+ hours per week

RELATIONSHIPS

Internal: Employees on the production line and plant management

External: USDA and Union

COMMENTS

The schedule for this position is typically Monday - Friday. Weekend work required as scheduled.
