Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a 2nd shift dispatcher to coordinate scheduling and dispatching of delivery operations, communicating with truck drivers via computers, phones, or two-way radios. You will assign drivers to trucks and ensure on-time departures and arrivals.

You will respond to driver questions, assist with weather issues, and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 1-2 years of dispatch experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years of dispatch experience in a commercial driver environment.
• Shift: 2nd shift (3:00 pm–11:30 pm).

Responsibilities

• Dispatch drivers and monitor route progress using available technology.
• Check drivers in/out of terminals and log trip records.
• Communicate with drivers daily and handle customer requests.
• Calculate miles and determine travel times to control delivery costs.
• Monitor On-Time performance and Driver Hours of Service compliance.
• Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance.
