Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a dispatcher to coordinate scheduling and dispatching of delivery operations, assign drivers to trucks, and ensure on-time departures and arrivals. You will stay available to answer driver questions and communicate with customers, vendors and coworkers professionally.

You will monitor driver progress with technology, log trip records, handle driver inquiries, compute miles and plan routes to control delivery costs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
• 1–2 years dispatch and commercial driver experience or related area.
• Preferred: 2–4 years dispatch and commercial driver experience within the food service industry.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch drivers and manage route schedules using available technology.
• Check drivers in/out of terminals and file trip records.
• Communicate with drivers daily and handle customer requests and complaints.
• Calculate miles and determine travel times for delivery cost accuracy.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the department.
