Job summary

Greif in Centerville, IA is seeking a 2nd shift Line Operator to perform routine manufacturing tasks under supervision. Tasks include site preparation, material transport, tool handling, and basic process support on the line.

Shift runs 2:40pm–11:00pm with a $1.00/hr shift premium. Minimum education is a high school diploma; strong basic communication and the ability to follow directions are essential for varied plant duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a manufacturing area free from debris and dirt, ready or put away tools as assigned.
• Closely follows directions to operate machinery, hold or supply routine materials and tools, and load or unload items on machinery and assembly lines.
• Performs routine property care activities.
• Performs any non-technical routine tasks at the plant.
• Routine quality checks on finished products.
• Reports any issues to supervisor or higher-level colleague.
• Follow safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

Under direct supervision, performs a variety of routine activities including, but not limited to preparing job sites, ensuring safety conditions, transporting materials, using power tools and other equipment, building temporary structures, and collaborating with other plant workers.

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $15.82 - $25.24 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between 18.10 to 18.10. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
