Virginia Tech is seeking a 2nd & 3rd Shift Custodial Services Supervisor to maintain established standards of cleanliness and safety across campus facilities in Blacksburg. The role includes leading a team when the manager is unavailable and coordinating daily custodial operations.
You will clean high touch surfaces, restrooms, floors, and general interior spaces, operate cleaning equipment, manage supplies, and report repairs or unsafe conditions.
Reporting to the Assistant Manager of 2nd & 3rd Shift Custodial Services, incumbent will be responsible for maintaining established standards of cleanliness and sanitation for interior spaces within assigned education and general assignment buildings across campus. Will serve in a leadership and directional role when the 2nd & 3rd Shift Facilities Operations Assistant Manager is unavailable. Focused duties include, cleaning and disinfecting common high touch surfaces, restrooms, hallways, corridors, classrooms, stairwells, elevators, and general interior spaces. Other duties include emergency cleanup, execution of blood-borne pathogen procedures, floor and window maintenance, operating powered cleaning equipment, trash removal, collecting recycling, and replenishing supplies. This position will report equipment and building repairs and any unsafe and unusual building maintenance issues. Responsible for the care and handling of facilities supplies, equipment, and assigned keys. This position is designated Emergency Personnel, and requires employees to report to work as needed during campus emergencies, holidays, closings, and per supervisor’s instructions.
