Job summary

Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation is seeking a 2nd Shift Laser Operator in Hobart, IN. You will produce laser cuts, set up and operate CNC laser equipment, and read blueprints and tapes to meet quality specs.

The role requires 2+ years CNC operating experience, ability to read micrometers, and certifications in LOTO, crane operation, and forklift operation. Shift is 2nd (1:30pm–10:00pm); full-time with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Label finished parts and deliver to designated areas.
• Record machine errors and communicate issues to supervisor.

Responsibilities

Position summary:

Produces laser cuts for fabrication processes by setting up, programming, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) laser cutting machine in a safe, productive manner, ensuring all quality standards are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operating single or multiple CNC laser cutting machines, including loading raw material and ensuring quality by maintaining focal point adjustment, feed rate, power, and other parameters.
• Ensures machine optics are maintained by performing tests and procedures, including tape shots, lens focusing, lens cleaning, nozzle cleaning, and replacement of any worn items.
• Labels finished parts accurately and delivers them to designated areas.
• Monitors laser operations to ensure machine is functioning properly and safely; records machine code errors and communicates performance issues to the supervisor.
• Uses inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
• De-burrs and cleans parts.
• Maintains quality, productivity, and safety records.
• Maintains supplies and performs regular preventive maintenance.
• Assists other operators with operating, inspecting, and cleaning machines and parts.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area.
• Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku's QMS policies and procedures.
• Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of CNC operating experience
