Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Produces laser cuts for fabrication by setting up, programming, and operating a CNC laser cutting machine to meet quality standards.
• Operates single or multiple CNC laser cutting machines, loads raw material, and maintains focal point, feed rate, power, and other parameters.
• Maintains machine optics, performs tape shots and lens cleaning, and replaces worn items as needed.
• Labels finished parts and delivers them to designated areas; records machine errors and communicates issues to supervisor.
• Uses inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, tape measures) and performs deburring and cleaning of parts.
• Keeps quality, productivity, and safety records and supports preventive maintenance.
• Complies with Daifuku QMS policies and drives continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Position summary:

Produces laser cuts for fabrication processes by setting up, programming, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) laser cutting machine in a safe, productive manner, ensuring all quality standards are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Operating single or multiple CNC laser cutting machines, including loading raw material and ensuring quality by maintaining focal point adjustment, feed rate, power, and other parameters.
• Ensures machine optics are maintained by performing tests and procedures, including tape shots, lens focusing, lens cleaning, nozzle cleaning, and replacement of any worn items.
• Labels finished parts accurately and delivers them to designated areas.
• Monitors laser operations to ensure machine is functioning properly and safely; records machine code errors and communicates performance issues to the supervisor.
• Uses inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
• De-burrs and cleans parts.
• Maintains quality, productivity, and safety records.
• Maintains supplies and performs regular preventive maintenance.
• Assists other operators with operating, inspecting, and cleaning machines and parts.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area.
• Employees are responsible to comply with all requirements of Daifuku’s QMS policies and procedures.
• Employees are to ensure sustainable process outputs that drive continuous improvement to provide leading industry performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of CNC operating experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

• Knowledge of CNC laser-cutting operations
• Ability to read a tape measure and micrometer

• Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
