Job summary

Daifuku North America is seeking a CNC Laser Operator for 2nd shift in Hobart, IN. This full-time role requires reading blueprints and tape measures and operating laser cutting machines to meet quality standards.

You will load materials, adjust focus/feed/power, perform preventive maintenance, and keep safety and quality records./LOTO, crane, and forklift certifications are preferred; teamwork and adherence to Daifuku QMS are essential.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of CNC operating experience.
Knowledge of CNC laser-cutting operations.
Ability to read a tape measure and micrometer.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
LOTO certification required.
Crane operation certification required.
Forklift operation certification required.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

Operate single or multiple CNC laser cutting machines, including loading raw material and ensuring quality by maintaining focal point adjustment, feed rate, power, and other parameters.
Ensures machine optics are maintained by performing tests and procedures, including tape shots, lens focusing, lens cleaning, nozzle cleaning, and replacement of any worn items.
Labels finished parts accurately and delivers them to designated areas.
Monitors laser operations to ensure machine is functioning properly and safely; records machine code errors and communicates performance issues to the supervisor.
Uses inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
De-burrs and cleans parts.
Maintains quality, productivity, and safety records.
Maintains supplies and performs regular preventive maintenance.
Assists other operators with operating, inspecting, and cleaning machines and parts.
Maintains cleanliness of work area.
