Job summary

PPG is seeking a Lab Technician (2nd Shift) to support the Optical Monomer Laboratory in Barberton, OH, running GC, HPLC, and IC tests, plus moisture, pH and density analyses for in-process and finished products.

The role reports to the Lab Supervisor and requires 1+ year lab experience and a high school diploma (college degree preferred). This is a 2nd shift position with weekend/holiday work and potential lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• 1+ years educational or professional lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform independently to support production by running samples and reporting results.
• Troubleshoot equipment, change gas cylinders, prepare solutions, and lift boxes up to 50 lbs.
• Follow established procedures to test in-process and finished products and environmental byproducts.
• Record results, perform calculations, and communicate to production.
• Set up equipment from instructions and checklists; prepare chemical solutions for tests and troubleshooting.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on lab equipment.
