Job summary

PPG seeks a Lab Technician (2nd Shift) to support a 24/7 production environment at the Optical Monomer Laboratory in Barberton, OH. You will run samples, report results, troubleshoot equipment and methods, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

The role reports to the Lab Supervisor and requires working Sundays to Thursdays from 1:00pm to 9:00pm, with heavier weekend responsibilities during holidays and peak times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• 1+ years of educational or professional experience in a lab setting.
• GC, HPLC, and IC chromatography test/instrumentation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform independently to support production by running samples and reporting results.
• Troubleshoot equipment, change gas cylinders, prepare solutions, and lift boxes up to 50 lbs.
• Follow established procedures to perform routine laboratory tests on in-process products, finished products and environmental byproducts.
