Job description

Position: Inspection Operator

Location: Waukesha, WI 53189

Hours: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shift (Monday - Friday). 13% shift premium included for 3rd shift.

Shift Hours:

• 3rd Shift: 10:00pm - 6:30am or 11:00pm - 7:30am
• 1st Shift: 6:00am - 6:00pm, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday; and 6:00am - 12:00pm Wednesday

Wage: Starting at $20 per hour (plus experience-based adjustments)

Job Description

The Inspection Operator verifies that products meet customer requirements, identifies nonconformities, communicates and documents issues, and maintains compliance with our Quality Management System. Collaboration with the production team is also expected.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Follow schedules and process work to meet or exceed customer expectations
• Utilize hot list and priority list for products
• Perform daily walkthroughs with the prior shift to verify testing instruments
• Operate all equipment within the Inspection Department safely and efficiently
• Learn proper testing locations based on work instructions or part configuration
• Develop inspection techniques as needed
• Count and identify parts prior to inspection for order verification
• Ensure proper packaging, including wrapping, shrink wrapping, banding, double boxing, and tagging
• Maintain verification test blocks and communicate with Equipment Quality for replacements
• Perform basic maintenance and adjustments on inspection equipment
• Assist with production when necessary
• Understand tagging, transfer procedures, and processing of materials
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the plant

Qualifications & Requirements

• All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test and background check
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Forklift certification (must acquire/maintain)
• 2+ years of factory experience preferred
• Knowledge of plant equipment and procedures
• Basic computer and math skills
• Proficiency in English reading
• Safety-focused mindset
• Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail
• Organized, adaptable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
• Willingness to learn and take direction
