Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have Vocational/Trade School education in electrical or mechanical work.
• Minimum one year of general maintenance repair experience.
• Ability to read English and basic measurement in English and Metric.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Competent technical aptitude and good dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Dismantles machines and removes parts for repair using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists.
• Reassembles machines after repair or maintenance work.
• Starts machines and observes mechanical operation to detect problems.
• Inspects or tests damaged parts and advises repair needs.
• Lubricates or applies adhesives to machines or parts per procedures.
• Installs, replaces, or changes machine parts per production specs.
• Records production, repair, and maintenance information.
• Reads work orders to determine equipment needing repair or maintenance.
• Collaborates with others to repair or move machines or equipment.
• Maintains equipment files and orders spare parts; supports preventive maintenance program.
• Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean work area.
