2nd shift Industrial Maintenance Technician
Location: 9560 Heartland Ct., Columbus, OH
Shift: Afternoons

As a Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician at Honeywell, you'll support the Industrial Automation business by providing expert technical service, resolving complex issues, and ensuring high customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, your work will enhance operational efficiency, safety, and reliability for our clients.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance and repair of distribution center material handling equipment (conveyors, sorters, etc)
  • Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
  • Resolve recurring technical problems and create action plans
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, etc.)
  • Use PLCs, PC logic, and TCP/IP for system diagnostics and repairs
  • Ensure safety compliance (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, PPE, Arc Flash)
  • Document work in CMMS and internal databases
  • Collaborate across departments to resolve customer issues
  • Support technical training and documentation efforts

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • The ability to lift 25 pounds individually and 50 pounds as a two-person team,
  • The ability to work above your head for extended period of time while standing, laying, or seated (e.g., 30mins). The ability to lift weights listed above your head.
  • The ability to move safely in confined spaces which may require crawling on hands and knees.
  • The ability to safely climb / descend / work on ladders and stairs frequently.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in Material Handling Equipment, including conveyors, sortation systems, and mechanical troubleshooting/maintenance/installation.
  • Strong technical expertise in Industrial Automation technologies.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • A degree from a vocational school or college in the Mechanical or Electrical field.
  • Experience maintaining conveyor systems.
  • Familiarity with Honeywell Intelligrated Conveyor Systems.
  • Proficiency in Mechanical, Electrical, and Motor Controls troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong mentorship and guidance skills.
  • A continuous learning mindset and eagerness to stay updated on industry developments.
  • Results-oriented with a drive to successfully complete projects.
