To The Rescue in Cedar Rapids is seeking a 2nd Shift Human Services Lead to supervise a team providing daily care and services for individuals with disabilities in residential settings. This hands-on role combines direct support, staff mentoring, scheduling coordination, and oversight of daily operations within the home.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience as a DSP or caregiver preferred.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use computers and documentation software.
• Accurate documentation and compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with daily living activities, meds, transportation, appointments, and community involvement.
• Help members achieve goals related to independence, safety, communication, and daily living skills.
• Support members with personal hygiene, meals, housekeeping, recreation, money management, and other daily needs per care plans.
• Complete daily documentation accurately and on time.
• Work alongside DSPs within the home environment; create monthly staff schedules and coordinate shift coverage.
• Review payroll, timesheets and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, safety, and cleanliness of the home.
• Coordinate medical appointments and advocate for member healthcare needs.
• Review documentation and medication oversight to ensure HCBS and Medicaid compliance.
• Maintain strong written communication and effective use of technology systems.
• Communicate with leadership, medical professionals, guardians, and support teams.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to staffing or member needs as required.
