Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, East Longmeadow, MA 01028, is seeking a Holesaw Weld Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will set up and operate automated welding equipment, perform quality checks, and ensure accurate heat treatment for holesaws.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of relevant experience, and precise measurement skills. Training runs from 5:00pm to 1:30am, with regular shift from 5:00pm to 5:00am and a $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of relevant welding/assembly experience preferred.
• Knowledge of charts, specifications and micrometers.
• Ability to use numbers including decimals.
• Mechanical ability/aptitude.
• Light physical effort: lifting 5–25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automatic blanking, heat treat forming and robotic TIG welding of holesaws.
• Load shells and cups onto robotic pallet or into TIG welder chuck.
• Inspect welds for quality and adjust welding parameters.
• Maintain equipment and work area; report discrepancies.
• Follow safety rules and employ safety equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

As a Holesaw Weld Operator you’ll be part of our Stanley Black & Decker team located in East Longmeadow MA 01028. You’ll get to:

General Responsibilities:

Perform duties involved setting up and operating automatic blanking, heat treat forming and robotic tig welding of various size holesaws.

Responsibilities:

• Work from priorities provided, travelers, written or verbal instructions. Setup, change over and operate nitrogen forming furnace per established procedure. Setup robotic and semi auto tig welders of various size. Load shell & cups onto robotic pallet or manually load into tig welder chuck. Start automatic cycle to weld. Visually inspect each saw for quality of weld. Adjust speed, length and position of stroke, seam current and cup current for proper heat. Position welding head and change tungsten tips as required using setting gauge according to established procedure. Rework or scrap any saw found to be out of spec
• Check the quality of each holesaw for total roundness, weld height, weld penetration
• Degrease cup when necessary, working from travelers and record data according to established procedure.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a neat and clean condition. Report any discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, defective material or other unusual situations to the Foreman.
• Observe and obey all safety rules, regulations and practices and employ all safety equipment and devices.
• Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or directed.
