Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in East Longmeadow, MA 01028 is hiring a Holesaw Weld Operator. The role offers a $21.00 per hour base pay plus a 9% shift differential, totaling $22.89/hour, plus a $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 5:00pm–5:00am, with training 5:00pm–1:30am.

You will set up and operate welding equipment, work from priorities, and ensure quality welds while complying with safety rules. Medical/dental/vision and retirement benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of charts, specifications and micrometers.
• Ability to use numbers including decimals.
• Mechanical ability and aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate automatic blanking, heat treat forming and robotic TIG welding of holesaws.
• Follow priorities, travelers, and written or verbal instructions.
• Set up nitrogen forming furnace per procedure.
• Operate robotic and semi-auto TIG welders of various sizes.
• Load shells and cups; start automatic weld cycles.
• Inspect welds for quality; adjust speed, stroke and currents as needed.
• Maintain equipment and work area; report discrepancies or safety concerns.

What You'll Do

As a Holesaw Weld Operator you'll be part of our Stanley Black & Decker team located in East Longmeadow MA 01028. You'll get to:

General Responsibilities

• Perform duties involved setting up and operating automatic blanking, heat treat forming and robotic tig welding of various size holesaws.

Responsibilities

• Work from priorities provided, travelers, written or verbal instructions.
• Setup, change over and operate nitrogen forming furnace per established procedure.
• Setup robotic and semi auto tig welders of various size.
• Load shell & cups onto robotic pallet or manually load into tig welder chuck.
• Start automatic cycle to weld.
• Visually inspect each saw for quality of weld.
• Adjust speed, length and position of stroke, seam current and cup current for proper heat.
• Position welding head and change tungsten tips as required using setting gauge according to established procedure.
• Rework or scrap any saw found to be out of spec.
• Check the quality of each holesaw for total roundness, weld height, weld penetration.
• Degrease cup when necessary, working from travelers and record data according to established procedure.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a neat and clean condition.
• Report any discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, defective material or other unusual situations to the Foreman.
• Observe and obey all safety rules, regulations and practices and employ all safety equipment and devices.
• Perform other similar or related duties as assigned or directed.
