Job summary

Wastequip in Beeville, TX is hiring a Helper/Cleaner/Finisher to clean, grind and finish surfaces before painting. Pay rate is $14.51 plus $2 shift differential for 2nd shift. Shifts: Mon-Thu 4:00PM–1:30AM; Fri 2:30PM–11:00PM.

The role involves grinding, polishing, setup for welders, and material handling using hoists or forklifts. A steady hand, attention to detail, and ability to work in a manufacturing environment are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning, grinding and finishing surfaces.
• Ability to select abrasive wheels and operate grinders safely.
• Ability to lift and move materials using hoists, cranes or forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Examine surface of workpiece for defects.
• Operate grinder to remove scratches and burrs.
• Polish surfaces to a smooth finish.
• Replace worn abrasive disks.
• Assist welders with pre-welding tasks.
• Set up weld table with material for welders.
• Lift and load materials using hoists or forklift.
• Assist welders with moving heavy pieces.
• Perform sub-assembly work as needed.
• Use measuring tools for alignment.
• Bolting metal components.
• Perform preventive maintenance on welding equipment.
• Clean workpieces with grinder or scraper.
