MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Heavy Equipment Shop Technician in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

You will perform mechanical services on new and used heavy equipment, test, repair, and rebuild machines, and assist with parts ordering and service reporting. The role requires 3–5 years of heavy equipment experience, with hydraulics, powertrain, and electrical systems knowledge, and the ability to work overtime and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in diesel equipment repair preferred.
• 3–5 years of mechanical experience with heavy equipment, preferably Caterpillar.
• Strong hydraulics, power train and electrical systems knowledge.
• Understanding of 6 Sigma and ability to improve work processes.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends.
• Proactive, safety-conscious with good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety rules and maintains shop housekeeping (5S).
• Diagnoses and repairs heavy equipment in the service shop.
• Documents service time and parts usage accurately in reports.
• Meets customer deadlines and maintains satisfaction during repairs.
• Maintains company tools and equipment in good working order.
