Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. (CRT) in Mentor, OH is hiring a Grit Blast Technician for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri).

The Blast Operator handles abrasive blasting to prepare turbine engine components for repair and paint, using various equipment and media, under strict safety guidelines. You will work with experienced teammates, learn blast equipment and media, and gain hands-on experience with growth opportunities as skills develop.

Qualifications

• Two years’ work experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with and/or a familiarity with pressure gauges.
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic shop math, including working with decimals and fractions.
• Possess a solid mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand step-by-step processes from the reading of work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety protocols and guidelines.
• Perform a variety of blast techniques on turbine engine components using different equipment.
• Mask and tape parts prior to blasting and perform actual part blasting with aluminum oxide, plastic grit or wet blast.
• Set up and operate blast machines and related equipment per work instructions and specs.
• Read, interpret, and follow written and verbal instructions; communicate issues promptly.
