Job summary

Barton Staffing Solutions, Inc. is seeking an experienced Grinder/Sander for 2nd shift to grind and sand welded metal parts to meet quality specs. The role requires handling a range of grinding and sanding tools with strong attention to detail and adherence to safety procedures.

The position is full-time, direct hire, with hours 1:30 PM–10:00 PM and pay $26–$28 per hour. Candidates should be able to operate various grinders and support safe, efficient production in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience grinding and sanding welded metal parts.
• Familiar with abrasive belts, wheels, sanding discs.
• Ability to follow safety policies and OSHA rules.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Select and install abrasive belts, wheels, sanding rolls, and discs based on job specs.
• Operate grinders and sanders (angle grinders, belt sanders, die grinders, orbital sanders, drum sanders, hand files).
• Visually and physically inspect parts for dents, scratches, rust, and other surface imperfections.
• Grind and sand metal surfaces to remove scratches, tool marks, excess weld material, sharp edges, and burrs.
• Ensure finished parts meet quality standards and specs.
• Perform routine cleanup of equipment and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Assist with material handling and staging using pallet jacks or forklifts as needed.
• Follow all safety policies, OSHA requirements, and work procedures.
