Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an on-site technician for a 2nd shift role in Operations. You will disassemble and reassemble gas compressor models, operate power tools, and ensure precise measurements for quality assembly.

You will input data into Power Apps and coordinate tooling logistics on customer sites. A strong mechanical background and willingness to work overtime are essential. Ideal candidates have experience with compressor rotors balancing and working in dynamic environments, with

Qualifications

• Experience with precision measuring equipment required.
• Familiarity with dynamic balancing activities related to compressor rotors.
• Previous experience in O&G operations and/or strong mechanical background.
• Must be dependable and willing to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble & reassemble multiple gas compressor models using special tooling.
• Operate hand, pneumatic, and battery powered tools.
• Clean components in wash bay and blast cabinet.
• Measure critical dimensions with micrometers, calipers, depth mics, etc.
• Move heavy equipment with overhead cranes and fork-lifts.
• Use BOM, assembly planning, and engineered drawings.
• Input compressor build data into Power Apps system.
• Coordinate logistics for compressor tooling to customer sites.
• Maintain safety awareness and manage hazards.
• Learn quickly and retain knowledge across compressor models.
• Work in a team and maintain a positive attitude.
• Repair/overhaul experience of centrifugal gas compressors or turbomachinery.
