Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. seeks a Forklift Operator I on 2nd shift in Thornton, CA to move material between inventory and production, maintain records, and support production schedules. This role requires basic math skills and adherence to safety policies while ensuring accurate material flow.

Qualified candidates typically have forklift experience or training, are at least 18 years old, and can complete licensing and paperwork efficiently. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9th grade basic education; high school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Forklift driving experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Successful completion of Forklift Driver licensing process.

Responsibilities

• Move material in process from one station to another if necessary.
• Band, wrap and/or pack finished goods, and label material.
• Move finished goods from production area to finished goods inventory yard or warehouse.
• Assist production with bottlenecks and other material needs.
• Provide general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment checklist and report problems.
• Maintain rough material and finished goods inventory yard organized and clean.
• Complete production records as required.
• Follow forklift rules and policies as described by Company policy.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
