Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Forklift Operator I to move material between inventory and production, ensuring accurate paperwork and production records. You will supply materials per the production schedule and help keep the process running smoothly.

The role requires basic math skills, adherence to safety rules, and willingness to obtain forklift licensing. First shift hours are 6:00AM to 2:30PM, with equal opportunity employer statements in the posting.

Qualifications

• Forklift driving experience is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.
• Successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Minimum 9th grade education; High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Move material in process from one station to another as needed.
• Band, wrap and/or pack finished goods, and label material.
• Move finished goods from production area to inventory yard or warehouse.
• Assist production with bottlenecks and other material needs.
• Provide general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment checklist and report issues.
• Maintain organized inventory yard for materials and finished goods.
• Complete production records as required.
• Follow forklift rules and company policies.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
