Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. seeks a Forklift Operator I for the Hampton, VA facility on the 2nd shift. Responsibilities include moving materials between inventory and production, loading/unloading, and maintaining accurate paperwork to support production schedules.

The role requires 18+ years old, basic math skills, and forklift licensing. Prior forklift experience is preferred but not mandatory, with opportunity to complete required licensing and contribute to a safe, productive warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9th grade basic education is required.
• Forklift driving experience is preferred but not required; licensing is mandated.
• Basic math and inventory techniques knowledge is preferred.
• Must successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks and rail cars.
• Move material from storage to work area and back as needed.
• Break packs to correct size and label material before loading.
• Provide general maintenance on equipment and perform pre-shift startup checks.
• Keep yard organized and clean; complete paperwork as required.
• Empty trash and wood hoppers; follow forklift rules and company policies.
• Participate in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
