Job summary

Welch Packaging is seeking a Forklift/Clamp truck operator for the 2nd shift (2pm–10pm, Mon–Fri) in Ohio. The role involves receiving roll stock and raw materials, loading/unloading trucks and rail cars, and operating banding equipment.

Maintain an organized dock area and follow safety procedures; basic math and English literacy are required. Responsibilities include assisting other warehouse staff, following production schedules, and performing daily forklift inspections.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior forklift experience required.
• Must be able to pass basic forklift and clamp truck training.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to read tape measures and perform basic mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Operate clamp truck and forklift equipment to company standards.
• Receive roll stock and other raw materials by company procedures.
• Unload and load trucks and rail cars as necessary.
• Operate Bander, Hand Bander, and Conveyor Line as needed.
• Assist Material Handlers, Shipping Personnel, and Clamp Drivers; keep warehouse organized.
• Read and understand production schedules; keep Supervisor informed of issues.
• Maintain a clean work area; keep docks and aisles clean.
• Able to read and understand the production schedule – keeps Supervisor informed in advance of issues.
• Follow all safety procedures; report unsafe conditions immediately to Supervisor.
• Perform forklift inspections daily at shift start; follow LOTO procedures.
• Inventory and organize finished products; document load verifications.
