Job summary

Siemens in Southaven, MS is seeking a Facilities Assistant for 2nd shift (3:00pm – 11:30pm) to support the distribution center. You will perform battery changes, operate floor scrubbers, manage supplies, and help maintain racks, conveyors, and cleanliness across the warehouse.

Ideal candidates can lift 40 pounds, hold forklift certifications, work a non-climate controlled environment, and collaborate with teams to keep operations safe and productive.

Qualifications

• Able to lift 40 pounds with or without accommodation.
• Certified on order picker and counterbalance lifts.
• Ability to work 2nd shift hours (3:00pm–11:30pm).
• Ability to work with common hand tools.
• Must be able to work in a non-climatized warehouse environment.
• Must be able to change forklift batteries in a timely manner.
• Must possess a positive attitude and good oral communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary lift battery attendant on 1st shift to ensure all lift have batteries change safely and expediently.
• Operate a floor sweeper and scrubber daily.
• Replenish water bottles and cups daily; replace water dispensers as needed.
• Remove and replace damaged racks.
• Pallet recycling daily
• Put away supplies from suppliers (cardboard, labels, etc.).
• Keep supply racks organized and clean.
• Minor maintenance tasks (assembly furniture).
• Evaluate machine issues, conveyors, and report to facilities coordinator timely.
• Minor plumbing and cleaning.
• Maintain cleanliness of front office parking lots as needed.
• Conduct monthly inspections on ladders.
• Inspect racks and eyewash for serviceability weekly.
