Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Facilities Assistant for the Weekend Shift at the Southaven, MS area serving the Memphis Distribution Center. You will manage forklift battery changes, operate floor sweepers and scrubbers, replenish water, and maintain racks and supplies while keeping facilities clean and safe.

Requirements include certification on order picker and counterbalance lifts, ability to lift 40 lbs, and proficiency with basic hand tools.

Qualifications

• Certification on Order picker and counterbalance lifts.
• Ability to work with common hand tools.
• Ability to lift at least 40lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to change Forklift batteries in a timely manner.
• Must possess a positive attitude and communicate well with others.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary lift battery attendant on 1st shift to ensure all lift have batteries change safely and expediently.
• Operate a floor sweeper and scrubber daily.
• Replenish water bottles and cups daily; replace water dispensers as needed.
• Remove and replace damaged racks.
• Pallet recycling daily.
• Put away supplies from suppliers (cardboard, labels, etc.).
• Keep supply racks organized and clean.
• Minor maintenance tasks such as assembling furniture.
• Evaluate machine issues, conveyors, and report to facilities coordinator timely.
• Minor plumbing and cleaning tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of front office parking lots as needed.
• Conduct monthly ladder inspections.
• Inspect racks and eyewash for serviceability weekly.

We're looking for dedicated people with the skills and vision to build a better tomorrow! By joining our distribution Facilities team, you will assist the maintaining operational readiness and implementing facility related improvements.

We are looking for a Facilities Assistant – Weekend Shift (5:00am – 3:00pm - Saturday/Sunday only). This position will be based at our Southaven, MS location (Memphis Distribution Center).

Role Description:

• Be the primary lift battery attendant on 1st shift to ensure all lift have batteries change safely and expediently.

Basic Qualifications:

• Certification on Order picker and counterbalance lifts
• Ability to work with common hand tools.
• Ability to lift at least 40lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must be able to change Forklift batteries in a timely matter.
• Must possess a positive attitude, work well with others inside and outside the department and have good oral communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated, independent worker who can take limited direction while making good decisions in the workplace.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Can solve basic math problems and know how to use a ruler.
• Preferred experience of working independently for 2 years.
