Job summary

Hazard Community & Technical College invites applications for a Facilities Worker II on a Tuesday through Saturday shift. Primary duties include grounds and custodial tasks, event setups, HVAC monitoring, and basic building maintenance at the Hazard Campus. Review begins Oct 5, 2026.

The role supports Operations with a 37.5-hour work week, on-site location, and a 12-month term; non-exempt status applies, with competitive benefits and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED and one year related experience.
• Basic computer/technology skills.
• Preferred: technology experience and knowledge of building mechanical maintenance.
• Employee Polygraph Protection Act.

Responsibilities

• Perform grounds maintenance: mowing, weed eating, planting, snow removal, parking lot repairs.
• Perform general custodial duties: cleaning floors, offices, bathrooms, removal of trash.
• Set up tables, chairs, stages, etc. for campus events.
• Provide HVAC monitoring/maintenance.
• Replace light fixtures; basic electrical work and switches.
• Perform basic plumbing: water fountain installations, waterline repairs, valve repairs, drain line maintenance.
• Perform basic carpentry: drywalling, painting, door repair, partitions, ceiling and floor tile installation.
• May be assigned to other campuses or shifts as needed.
