Hazard Community & Technical College is hiring a Facilities Worker II for a Tuesday through Saturday shift (Tue-Fri 2:00 pm–10:00 pm, Sat 8:00 am–4:00 pm) primarily serving the Hazard Campus. Review of applications begins Oct 5, 2026.

The role entails grounds and custodial work, HVAC monitoring, basic electrical and plumbing tasks, and event setup. Located on-site with a 12-month contract term and 37.5 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with one year related experience.
• Basic computer/technology skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform grounds maintenance and snow removal tasks.
• Carry out general custodial duties including cleaning and trash removal.
• Set up tables, chairs, stages for events on campus.
• Provide HVAC monitoring/maintenance.
• Install basic electrical fixtures and replace light fixtures.

Job Summary

Hazard Community & Technical College is inviting applications for a Facilities Worker II. We are currently looking to fill a position for a Tuesday through Saturday shift (Tuesday to Friday 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm) with the location primarily serving our Hazard Campus. Review of applications will begin October 5, 2026.

Job Duties

• Perform grounds maintenance: mowing, weed eating, planting, snow removal, parking lot repairs.
• Perform general custodial duties: cleaning floors, offices, bathrooms, removal of trash.
• Perform set up of tables, chairs, stages, etc. for events on campus.
• Provides HVAC monitoring/maintenance.
• Performs basic installation of receptacles, switches, breakers, ballast; replaces light fixtures.
• Perform basic power equipment repairs and upkeep.
• Perform basic plumbing: water fountain installations, waterline repairs, valve repairs, drain line maintenance.
• Perform basic carpentry; dry walling, painting, door repair, installation of partitions, and installation of ceiling and floor tiles.
• *May be assigned to other campuses or shifts as needed.*

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED and one year related experience required. Basic computer/technology skills required.

Preferred Qualifications

Technology experience and knowledge of building mechanical maintenance preferred.
