Job summary

The Riverside Church is seeking a reliable Custodian for the 2nd shift (2pm-10:30pm) to perform routine cleaning and maintenance across the church facilities. Starting salary is $22.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, using floor machines, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, setting up rooms for events, pouring and breaking down spaces, and assisting with snow removal and lawn care as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred and minimum 2–5 years of facilities maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to multi-task and set up/break down rooms for events.
• Capability to move heavy furniture and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub floors, stairs and other surfaces.
• Operate industrial floor machines and attachments.
• Scrub, strip, wax and polish floors with buffers.
• Vacuum rugs and shampoo when needed.
• Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, and glass surfaces.
• Replace liners, collect trash, and handle janitorial duties.
• Set up and break down rooms for church programs and events.
• Move heavy furniture and equipment as directed.
