Material Handler - Equipment Operator

The Material Handler - Equipment Operator may fulfill multiple roles in the Distribution Center environment to help fulfill the overall mission to process Inbound and/or Outbound freight accurately, timely, and safely.

Major Activities

1. Utilizes manual and/or powered industrial equipment to load and unload inventory.
2. Uses material handling equipment (reach truck and/or order picker/cherry picker) for shipping and receiving.
3. Completes periodic safety training on machinery operation.
4. Performs routine equipment inspections and reports maintenance needs.
5. Performs various functions related to order fulfillment, such as Receiving, Labeling, Putaway, Order Picking, Slotting, Replenishment, eComm order fulfillment, Hybrid throwing, Loading, and other specialized roles requiring additional training or experience (e.g., Inventory Control).
6. Documents production logs accurately, including changes in assignments, downtime, meetings, etc., to ensure productivity records are correct.

Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills

• Basic computer skills

Minimum Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience with manual and/or powered industrial equipment
• Basic warehouse or Distribution Center knowledge
• Proven success in a production environment

Preferred Certifications

• Reach Truck or Order Picker Certification preferred

Physical Requirements

• Lifting and carrying 5 to 60 pounds frequently
• Pushing or pulling materials and equipment regularly
• Standing frequently when working or operating equipment
• Walking primarily within the warehouse
• Reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting
• Repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements

Work Environment

• Exposure to temperature variations based on climate and dock proximity
• Moderate noise levels from equipment and conveyor systems
• Occasional vibration when operating machinery
• Potential exposure to fumes and airborne particles

Legal and Compensation

Applicants must satisfy all legal requirements. The base pay range is $17.10 - $21.10.
