Job summary

University of South Carolina Upstate is seeking a Custodian to perform custodial and housekeeping duties across campus, with weekend and evening hours involved. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience.

The position offers a 40-hour work week with a second shift (4:00 pm – 12:30 am) and a salary in the USC market range, commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include health, life insurance, paid leave, and retirement programs.

Qualifications

• Requires 1+ years of related custodial experience.
• Must be able to follow routine oral and written instructions.
• Demonstrates knowledge of OSHA standards and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning for restrooms, classrooms, lobbies and common areas.
• Maintain floors by polishing, buffing, stripping and sealing.
• Transports cleaning supplies and tools between facilities and washes/building areas.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and report building deficiencies via the work management system.
