Job summary

SITE Staffing Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Set Up Machinist for the 2nd shift (2PM-10PM) in our manufacturing team. The role focuses on set up and operation of CNC milling machines to produce precision components in a high-mix, low-volume environment.

You will interpret blueprints and specs, select tools, verify setups with trials and inspections, maintain quality and production records, and uphold safety standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC milling, including 5-axis machining.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Understanding of tolerances and setup requirements.
• Proficient in selecting and installing cutting tools and fixtures.
• Capable of verifying setups through trial runs and inspections.
• Skilled in monitoring operations and making adjustments for quality.
• Experience using precision measuring tools for inspection.
• Commitment to safety, accuracy, and on-time production.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision metal and nonmetal components.
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and machining instructions to determine dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements.
• Select and install cutting tools, fixtures, workholding devices, and other necessary tooling.
• Verify machine setups and program data through trial runs and dimensional inspections.
• Monitor machining operations, identify issues, and make adjustments to maintain quality and accuracy.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, measuring tools, and other precision inspection equipment.
• Ensure components meet drawing specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate production records and communicate important information between shifts.
• Meet production goals while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
