Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Orlando, Florida is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist / GD&T specialist to set up and operate a range of manual, CNC, and grinding machines for ultra‑precision components used in defense programs.

You will read engineering drawings, interpret GD&T, calibrate tools, and verify dimensions with micrometers, calipers, and CMMs, while proposing improvements to reduce cycle time and improve manufacturability. This role requires U.S. citizenship and shift flexibility (1st/2nd/3rd).

Qualifications

• Experience with manual and CNC machine tools, setup skills, and precision measuring.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T to fabricate parts to tight tolerances.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift per facility rules.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC machines for drilling, boring, milling, and turning.
• Operate grinding equipment to form and finish tools and cutters.
• Read and apply GD&T and specifications to fabricate complex parts.
• Use precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, CMMs) to verify dimensions.
• Propose design or process changes to improve manufacturability and reduce cycle time.
