Position: CNC Machinist – Large VTL (vertical turret lathe)

Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday – Friday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Compensation: $28–$42/hour + Shift Differential | Overtime Available

About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail‑oriented CNC Machinist with experience operating large vertical turret lathes to join our precision manufacturing team in Charleston. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who excels in a high‑precision, low‑volume production environment and is committed to producing top‑quality components to exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate large vertical CNC lathes to machine components to tolerances within ±0.001”
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to determine machining requirements
- Perform in‑process inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet specifications
- Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each job
- Monitor machining operations and make real‑time adjustments to feeds, speeds, and tooling as needed
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team
- Accurately document production data and inspection results
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Completion of a machinist apprenticeship or equivalent training is a plus
- Minimum 3+ years of experience operating CNC vertical lathes
- Preferred experience with Fives/G&L 1600, 2000, and Momentum 2500 machines
- Strong understanding of precision machining practices and quality standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and transport materials up to 10 feet
- Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
