Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Steam & Air Solutions (SAS) in Summerville, SC is seeking an experienced Machinist to set up and operate large vertical turret lathes (VTL) on the 2nd shift. You will interpret blueprints, adjust feeds and speeds, inspect finished parts, and maintain equipment to ensure tight tolerances and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience operating large vertical turret lathes (VTLs).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Proficient in measuring parts to tolerance.
• Familiarity with precision inspection methods.
• Commitment to safety procedures and clean work area.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate large vertical turret lathes to achieve tolerances within 0.001 inch.
• Interpret blueprints, work instructions, and drawings to determine machining requirements.
• Measure and inspect finished parts for conformance to specs.
• Select tooling and materials for each job; maintain machines and perform minor repairs.
• Monitor and adjust feeds/speeds; document production and inspection results.
