Job summary

APX is a leading metal fabrication company in the region, seeking an experienced CNC Laser Operator to support our production line in Pennsylvania. You will operate laser cutting equipment, set up lenses, and ensure optimal machine parameters for quality outputs.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of CNC laser experience, solid sheet metal knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints. A flexible shift including some weekends and safe material handling are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience on Trumpf, Amada or similar CNC laser cutting machines.
• Solid background working with sheet metal.
• Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance.
• Proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills.
• Flexible schedule is required; this position requires shift work as well as some weekend work.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Operate the CNC laser cutting machine and other machinery used in the production process, or assist other machine operators.
• Select and set up lenses based on material type and thickness, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
• Monitor fill level of bulk tank system and report reordering levels to the supervisor.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with dynamic prioritization.
• Work with automated storage system.
• Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
• Assemble items as instructed by shift leader or floor supervisor.
• Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually, or using hoist.
• Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators.
• Uphold all OSHA standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
