Job summary

Benjamin Steel Company in Cincinnati is seeking a Burn Machine Operator to operate one or more burning machines, perform setup for stock shapes, install tips, and adjust guides, stops and working tables to handle varying stock sizes with high accuracy. The role requires blueprint knowledge and precise operation to optimize productivity.

The operator will locate stock, safely operate and maintain equipment, minimize waste, and ensure accurate paperwork for material handling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent required.
• Experience in templates and drafting is preferred.
• Previous burning machine experience is required.
• Overhead crane and forklift experience is preferred.
• Excellent math, geometry, measurement and PC skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Accurately locate and identify stock for storage and retrieval.
• Safely operate and maintain/clean burning machinery and related equipment.
• Set up burning machines with correct tips, guides, and feeds for stock size.
• Minimize waste and drops by proper operation and adjustments.
• Notify supervisor when equipment or supplies need replacement.
• Process paperwork for material handling/production recording.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Support warehouse functions when processing work is slow.
