Job summary

Pennsylvania Steel Company, Inc. in Birmingham, AL is seeking CNC Burn Table Operators for 1st shift (7:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday). The role involves operating CNC burn tables to cut steel plates, reading blueprints and CAD files, and maintaining high quality standards.

Qualifications

• Read micrometers and tape measures accurately.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and CAD files.
• Basic math calculations and attention to detail required.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Familiar with Windows-based software and CNC interfaces.
• Experience with measuring tools (calipers, tapes).

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Burn Table to cut steel plate and sheet metal per job specs.
• Load and unload material using handling equipment.
• Interpret work orders, blueprints, and CAD files to set machine parameters.
• Monitor operations and adjust for quality and accuracy.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
• Fulfill work orders including part marking and packaging.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per policy.
• Other duties as assigned.
