Job summary

Family Dollar in Saint George, Utah is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to operate the battery room and perform preventive maintenance on material handling equipment. You will troubleshoot basic issues, assist senior technicians, and maintain a safe work environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year of repair/maintenance experience or 2 years vocational training, and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; trade school preferred.
• 1 year of experience repairing/maintaining mechanical or electrical equipment or two years of related vocational training.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools operation.
• Basic knowledge and operation of a multimeter tool.
• Ability to understand maintenance manuals and electrical equipment blueprints.
• Preferred experience with industrial electrical systems and motor controls.
• Shift work with overtime, weekends and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Follows safety procedures to maximize personal and co-worker safety.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment (electronic and electrical equipment, battery changer, etc.).
• Troubleshoot basic problems with equipment where repair is visible or obvious.
• Assist other maintenance technicians in repair and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain an organized work area and promote a safe working environment with the Maintenance department.
• Communicate with customers, suppliers, and associates verbally and/or in writing.
• Complete work orders, records, logs and other documents according to procedures.
• Operate material handling equipment, battery equipment, moving machinery, and other powered equipment.
