Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is hiring for a 2nd shift manufacturing role at our Northampton, MA location. The position involves operating pallet centering devices, auto banding software, banding units, and conveying systems to meet customer specifications.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to work overtime on short notice, and have at least 2 years of manufacturing or warehouse experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Willingness to work overtime on short notice, both during the week and weekends.
• 2 years experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• 2nd shift, 3pm - 11pm.

Responsibilities

• Operate pallet centering device, auto banding software, two stage banding units, and conveying system.
• Perform basic computer functions to input and retrieve information from system.
• Operate equipment at a pace to avoid gridlock of upstream production equipment.
• Read factory card and execute customer requirements/specifications for finishing units for delivery.
• Add proper dunnage to protect customer product and load tags per customer specs.
• Maintain inventories of dunnage in various sizes.
• Communicate with maintenance department or supervisor any needed repairs.
• Monitor the quality of output from the machine, communicating issues to supervisor.
• Maintain neat, orderly, and safe area.
• Adhere to safety and work rules, company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as needed.
