Job summary

IDEX is seeking a Balancing Machinist for the 2nd shift to oversee measurement and correction of imbalances in rotating components. You will operate balancing equipment, analyze readings, and adjust weights to achieve balanced, vibration-free operation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years’ experience with balancing machinery, along with strong math skills and a commitment to safety and quality. 2nd shift offers a 5% differential pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years' experience operating balancing machinery.
• Strong proficiency in basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Balance parts to meet production goals, including cycle time, quantity and quality.
• Set up and operate balancing machines; ensure proper fixtures and speeds per setup instructions.
• Interpret readings from balancing instruments to determine weight removal and adjust accordingly.
• Perform in-process inspection using calipers and other measuring devices to ensure quality.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace and perform 6S activities.
• Operate daily maintenance and routine tooling checks on machinery.
