Job summary

International Paper in Griffin, GA is seeking an Evol Assistant Operator for 2nd shift (3pm–11pm). The role involves assisting with machine speed control, glue checks, load counting, and quality checks to ensure safe, efficient production of boxed products. Some weekends and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have prior machine operator assistant experience.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to read a measuring tape and ruler accurately.
• Ability to perform basic shop math.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in controlling machine speed to maximize output and ensure quality products.
• Assist in checking boxes are glued properly.
• Assist in checking stacking plan, load tags and unit count on first load.
• Perform all QMS checks and maintain quality standards.
• Set aside two bundles of quality boxes at startup for defect replacements.
• Pull defectives and replace with good boxes from set aside bundles.
• Confirm final count matches bundle spec and adjust as needed.
• Count scrap boxes to ensure equal replacements.
• Check and fold at least one box per unit and maintain ink/glue flow.
• Monitor jams and segregate bad sheets for reuse.
• Keep area clean and inform supervisor of downtime.
• Assist in MDC system checks during order start, middle, and end.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Evol Assistant Operator

Pay Rate: $ 23.29

Category/Shift : 2 nd shift. 3pm – 11pm.

• Some weekends are mandatory
• Some shiftsrequired mandatory overtime

Physical Location: Griffin Box Plant 330 Hudson Rd. Griffin, Ga. 30224

The Job You Will Perform:

• Assist in controlling the machine speed to produce a quality product at a maximum level of output.
• Assist in checking to make sure that boxes are being glued properly.
• Assist in checking the stacking plan, load tags, and unit count on first load.
• Perform all QMS checks.
• At start up, set aside two bundles of quality boxes to use as replacement boxes for defects.
• Pull all defectives found during inspection and replace with good box from bundles set aside.
• Assist in confirming that final count matches bundle spec. (Replace same number as defects pulled)
• Count scrap boxes to confirm equal # of replacements. If this number is incorrect, add difference to final unit.
• Check and fold up at least one box per unit. Check and maintain constant ink and glue flow.
• Watch for and react to jam-ups. Stack all bad sheets for reuse; waste to scrap cart.
• Keep work area neat and clean. Inform supervisor of any downtime.
• Assist in checking to make sure the MDC system is operating correctly during the beginning, middle, and end of each order.
