Job summary

Kenmore Envelope Company, Inc. in Richmond, VA seeks a Press Room Assistant to support the Press Operator in daily production. You will prepare plates, install blankets, adjust machine parts, and help maintain print quality through serialization and color/register tweaks.

Responsibilities include changing rollers, cleaning blankets and ink systems, and assisting with setup before production runs to meet job specifications. This is an on-site, full-time position with hourly wages.

• Assists Press Operator
• Insert packing sheets on plate cylinder to build up plate to printing height
• Fasten reinforcing bars to offset blankets
• Install plates and blankets on press cylinders, using hand tools to achieve pressure required for printing.
• Adjust press machine parts, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, and jogging devices.
• Assist in removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools.
• Wash blankets and cleans ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains, using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press.
• Assist Press Operator by making necessary color or register corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the job.
